Algae on the roots and leaves of lucky bamboo turn yellow due to excessive sunlight exposure, poor water quality, or over-fertilization. Algae thrive in nutrient-rich environments, and an excess of nutrients can cause them to grow rapidly and turn yellow. To prevent this, it is important to maintain proper lighting, water quality, and nutrient levels for the lucky bamboo plant. Regular cleaning and maintenance of the plant can also help prevent algae growth and keep the plant healthy. **
